The Hostile is a contemporary paranormal crime thriller and first book in The Hostile series.
In a rundown area of Manchester, inside a bathroom in a small, terraced house overflowing with children and dysfunctional parents, an unfathomable, powerful entity infiltrates twelve-year-old Serena’s life with disastrous effects. The enigmatic force not only dramatically affects introverted Serena’s life but threatens the well-being of everyone she knows, especially those people who for some reason have earned the strange girl’s displeasure. It soon becomes clear that nobody should ever upset Serena if they know what is good for them. After reading The Hostile, you’ll never look at DIY in the same way again.
Holiday for The Hostile, book 2 of The Hostile series, is probably even stranger than the first. Serena, plus her unusual friend and partner in crime, Tile X, reluctantly find themselves suffering a family holiday inside her eccentric grandfather’s hovel in Ireland. Who will escape intact from their dramatic holiday from Hell? A paranormal crime thriller with a splash of horror.
Holiday for The Hostile is available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon. An audiobook edition, narrated by Alexander Doddy, is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.
In The Hostile Game, Manchester-based Serena, now eighteen and pregnant, finally discovers the reason why Tile X befriended her seven years before. She doesn’t like what she hears. Confronting The Hostile is book 4 in The Hostile paranormal crime thriller series. It was published on Amazon in Kindle and paperback editions on 9th August 2017. An audiobook version is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. It can be enjoyed as a standalone like the other three books in this unusual series.

Her Demonic Angel is fourteen of my short stories written thus far. The stories have been written in a variety of genres, so hopefully, there should be something for everyone. Some tales are stranger than others, but all could be said to be different shades of dark.
Random Bullets is a psychological thriller with a paranormal twist. After shooting and killing his nephew, a gunman runs wild in a London park. What drives Edward to commit such a heinous act? Who will survive yet another of his moments of madness? Set in Jersey, Cornwall, Manchester, London, and places not of this world.
This non-fiction book describes my close relationship with old postcards, mainly fantasy ones. I have collected them since art college in the seeventies and now own over two thousand of these charming, beautiful, historic items. I started collecting them whilst writing my thesis on Fantasy in Postcards when I was studying for a graphic design degree. All the postcards in my book are from my own large collection.
A Slice of the Seventies – Book One of The Mug Trilogy
Published on Amazon in 2015. 246 pages.
This first book in the loosely autobiographical Mug Trilogy tells the story of Jersey-born Mug, a troubled girl from a recently broken home. It covers her time as a sixteen-year-old at the Isle of Wight Music Festival in 1970, the year she follows a guru and tracks her tumultuous time as an art student in Coventry. It follows her time with fellow-student, David, and the dramatic events which lead on from their graduation.
An audiobook of A Slice of the Seventies, narrated by Tracey Norman, is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.
The words in this loosely autobiographical book were triggered by the entanglement between Mug, a recently divorced, disinherited, temporarily sex-obsessed woman, and Michael, a complex, mendacious, Scottish baggage handler. Destiny threw this Gordian knot her way one night in early 2004. She was an honest, trusting, troubled woman in her late forties. He was an enigma in his late thirties who was hiding many shocking secrets. Her original plan was to write about their unusual story as a gift to him, taking the opportunity to describe her life prior to their meeting because it shaped how she felt about him, why she tolerated what others might deem unacceptable and dictated how she lived her future life. The purpose of this book changed into a desperate effort to make sense of unfolding, bizarre events and to help them both deal with the aftermath.
The aftermath of Mug’s time whirled in The Lying Scotsman’s vortex. This book documents her struggles to achieve a happy outcome in her relationship with men, family, work, and life in general. It is the third book in the third-person autobiographical Mug Trilogy. Who will be Mug’s final straw, and what prompted her to write and publish books in her sixties?
Straws is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. Free with Kindle Unlimited.
The main action takes place in rural Kent and London in 2015. It looks at the dramatic incidents, challenges and temptations in the past and present lives of four couples of varying ages, professions and sexual persuasions that are all linked by either blood or friendship. Just as in life, the negative, selfish, sometimes violent natures of some of the characters in Potholes and Magic Carpets wreak havoc on the innocent. A tale of not so simple folk.
Potholes and Magic Carpets is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. An audiobook edition, narrated by Tracey Norman, is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. Published on Amazon in 2015. 298 pages. Link to the paperback edition of Potholes and Magic Carpets on Amazon.
The Trouble With Liam
Published in 2018. 280 pages.
THE TROUBLE WITH LIAM is a powerful psychological thriller set in Ireland and Sheffield. It tells the life story of Liam O’Sullivan in all its twisted glory. It begins with tales of his challenging childhood in Dublin and follows him through tragic events that change him into a misogynistic, controlling, ultimately lethal bully living in Sheffield. Liam thought he could do as he pleased … until he was taught otherwise. Prepare to be shocked in different ways throughout the book. If you enjoy lashings of dark humour, situations to make your eyes pop out, thrills of every kind, all wrapped up in a gripping, dramatic storyline, please read on.
Available as Kindle and paperback editions on Amazon. The audiobook, narrated by Tracey Norman, is on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. Link to the Kindle edition on Amazon https://amzn.to/2xOTHqU
The Trouble With Trouble
Published on Amazon in 2020. 382 pages.
THE TROUBLE WITH TROUBLE is a powerful erotic thriller set in a Sheffield police station. The story follows on from The Trouble With Liam but can be read as a standalone. When a forensic scientist invents a potent sexual arousal cream called Trouble, it causes huge problems for DCI Jeremy Cosgrove, his beautiful sex-addicted liaison officer, Kate Pendleton, and two other women who also work at the station. It’s a tale of blackmail, lust, secrets, hidden identities, and murder. The Trouble With Trouble is like Line of Duty but with explicit sex.
Be warned. As with book 1 in the Trouble series, The Trouble with Trouble isn’t a book for the faint-hearted or easily shocked. I’ve written two more books in the Trouble series which can also be read as standalones. Trouble In Cornwall is now published and book 4, Troubled, will be out in late 2020.
Available in Kindle and paperback editions. Free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers. Link to the Kindle edition on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3eM9Kte
Trouble In Cornwall

DCI Cosgrove and Kate Pendleton, his sex-addicted liaison officer, find themselves in all kinds of bizarre and extreme situations when they are seconded to a Cornish police force to help find Jessie O’Sullivan’s kidnapped son. Jessie is Liam O’Sullivan’s wife from book 1, The Trouble With Liam. Kate catches the eye of Russell Bell, Jessie’s charismatic but deeply flawed Jamaican boyfriend. All hell breaks loose in this third book in the Trouble series.
Available in Kindle and paperback. The Kindle is free with Kindle Unlimited. Link to Trouble In Cornwall: https://amzn.to/3fBBWyh
Troubled
Published on Amazon in 2021. 315 pages.
In TROUBLED, the discovery of the naked body of a sixteen-year-old schoolgirl on the banks of the River Don in Sheffield throws DCI Jeremy Cosgrove and his team into the dark world of grooming gangs. Scientist Fenton Nightingale is on the run and out for revenge, still causing havoc with his Trouble arousal cream invention. DCI Cosgrove and DS Theresa Smart know they must catch him to prevent worldwide harm and chaos.
The explicit adult content in this fourth book of my “outrageous” Trouble series of powerful crime thrillers is guaranteed to shock as much as the other three books in the series, maybe even more. “Shocking, funny, and full of unrestrained sexual antics.”
Available in Kindle and paperback. The Kindle is free with Kindle Unlimited. Link to Troubled: https://amzn.to/3pOLeMY

The Brothers Grimshaw
Published on Amazon in 2022. 88 pages. The Brothers Grimshaw is a novella set in London in the 1970s. The story is based on the author’s trials and tribulations during her first job after leaving art college. Working for a pittance as the sole graphic designer for the owners of a rundown print firm in Kilburn certainly had its challenges, comic moments, and dangers.
In the novella, A Sunny Day In Oldham, a gruesome murder triggers dramatic changes in DS Mark Jenkin’s complex double life. His passion for redheads proves dangerous. This contemporary thriller contains sexually explicit material.

A SLICE OF THE SEVENTIES tells the third-person autobiographical story of Jersey-born Mug, a troubled girl from a recently broken home. It covers her experiences as a teenager at the Isle of Wight Music Festival in 1970, the same year she follows a guru. The book tracks her tumultuous four years as an art student in Coventry, where vegetarian Mug finds herself living next door to an abattoir and a railway shunting yard with David, a fellow art student.
